The Official Agora Symposium FAQ
You have many questions. We do not have many answers, but we will do the best that we can. Additional questions can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: When and Where is Agora Symposium?
A: Agora Symposium 2018 will happen February 24, 2018 at the Doubletree by Hilton Minneapolis – Park Place, which is conveniently located 5 minutes west of downtown Minneapolis on I-394. The Park Place Doubletree is a short distance from all points of the Twin Cities metro, and is only 15 minutes from the MSP airport.
Q: How and where do I register for AgoraFest?
A: Right here!
Q: Do I need to register for Agora Symposium 2018 in advance, or can I just show up at the Doubletree on the day of the event?
A: You can register up to the day of the event, but do it online – we won’t be taking cash or checks at the event.
Q: I despise all fiat currency. Can I register using digital currencies/gold/silver/barter/livestock/etc?
A: We regret that we have only one payment option at this time. Heck the Bitcoin fees are almost as much as the cost of the event!
Q: Are kids welcome at this event? Is it kid/youth friendly? How much for kids?
A: Of course they are welcome – the children are our future, etc! So far, everything on the schedule and everything we are planning is suitable for all audiences – although some sessions might be a bit technical so it is possible some of the kids (and adults) could get bored. If you’d like to plan some more kid-oriented activities please do so (and let me know if you need any resources and I’ll help)! Age 12 and under are free.
Q: I see you are including some snacks, but what if we are really hungry, or want to eat some healthy food?
A: There are many options! They include:
- There is a little 24 hour shop located near the lobby of the hotel
- The hotel has a restaurant called Dover Restaurant and Bar. I ate there once and it was ok.
- There are a few small restaurants located right behind the hotel – Chinese, Indian (actually very good – The Taste of India), and a sub place.
- Right across the street from the hotel are the West End Shops, which include 11 eating places.
Q: Can I stay overnight at the hotel?
A: Absolutely! Just contact the hotel directly and make your reservations. We have a small block of rooms reserved for our event.
Q: Can I put up a table or display in or outside the ballroom to promote my business/NGO/cult?
A: There is a limited amount of space available – please contact us and we will see what we can do.
Q: What is your cancellation/refund policy?
A: If you need to cancel for any reason, you may do so up to Friday February 23 and receive a full refund. Once Agora Symposium begins, we cannot offer any refunds.
Q: I am a candidate for government office and/or I have a law that must be passed and/or repealed, and I have a vital message of liberty to bring to all your people. Will you allow me the courtesy of speaking about my very important message at Agora Symposium?
A: We regret that, unlike AgoraFest, we do not have available any Violent Speech Zones. I suppose you can stand outside the entrance of the hotel and deliver your message of “liberty”. Please remember, it can get very cold in Minnesota in February.
