Esperanto_star3What is Esperanto, and why would anyone, in particular agorists, want to learn this language?

Esperanto is a constructed language, and has been in use for over 120 years. It was designed to be a common secondary language for communication between people internationally. It is remarkably easy to learn, and millions of people around the world speak the language today – Esperanto is by far the most widely used auxiliary language in the world.

Esperanto also caught the imagination of many people who desired to promote a culture of neutrality, peace and respect for all peoples. In fact, Esperantists continue to gather around the world to not only promote the language, but also to promote the ideals of communication between equals, not between nationalities. Because of these ideals, find a large enough gathering of libertarians, and you will likely find some Esperanto speakers. Because it is so easy and fast to learn, and because of the non-state goals of the language, it may not be too much of a stretch to say that “Esperanto estas la lingvo de agoriismo” (Esperanto is the language of agorism)!

This workshop will be an informal gathering of Esperantists and those who would like to learn more about this language. You will be able to hear how the language sounds, and if you wish, in less than an hour we can help you to speak your first Esperanto sentences!
